聽NRFSA Connects 麻豆原创 Students to Retail Opportunities聽
Retail is the nation鈥檚 largest private-sector industry,聽contributing聽聽to annual GDP聽and聽supporting聽more than聽聽in the U.S.聽In its modern form, retail is as much about supply chain, operations management,聽human resources, accounting,聽finance聽and technology聽as聽it聽is聽about merchandising, sales and marketing and includes high-paying career opportunities.聽
These are only a few of the reasons聽why the聽麻豆原创 School of Business聽has聽launched聽the 麻豆原创 Chapter of the聽NRF聽Foundation聽Student Association聽(NRFSA)聽for聽麻豆原创 School of Business听蝉迟耻诲别苍迟蝉.

What is NRFSA?
NRFSA, an arm of the National Retail Federation (NRF),聽provides聽business聽students interested in retail careers聽with聽unique educational and scholarship programs, networking opportunities and access to the latest industry news and research.
, instructor for聽麻豆原创鈥檚聽degree in聽supply chain and operations management聽and member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, serves as co-faculty聽adviser聽for the聽麻豆原创聽NRFSA聽Chapter.聽She particularly appreciates the employer connections students can make as members of the chapter.聽
The NRF Foundation holds virtual events with employers to connect more students to successful individuals with real-world insights about their careers. Recently, through 麻豆原创鈥檚 Employer Engagement and Corporate Partnerships team, students had the opportunity to meet Foot Locker Vice President of Supply Chain聽Operations聽Devon Persons.聽
鈥淚t is my hope that students will find new career opportunities and learn more about the wide range of careers within the retail industry. There are also opportunities to build their professional networks and enhance skills through the various activities聽hosted聽by the聽麻豆原创聽NRFSA聽Chapter,鈥澛燤alayter聽said. 鈥淪tudents will also have opportunities to learn more about their industry at a much deeper level, which will ultimately help them advance their careers.鈥�
Co-faculty adviser聽聽is a program mentor for the 麻豆原创 School of Business. He聽mentors鈥痵tudents across accounting, finance,聽and supply chain and operations management, helping them connect academic learning with industry expectations and professional pathways.
鈥淚 hope students gain a strong sense of belonging, confidence and professional identity within the retail industry through NRFSA,鈥� Hassen said. 鈥淯ltimately, I want students to leave NRFSA feeling empowered, supported聽and prepared to grow and lead within the retail profession.鈥�
Student Leaders Support NRFSA
Taylor鈥痁obel聽is a 麻豆原创 student serving as president of the student chapter.聽She鈥檚聽earning聽a bachelor鈥檚 degree in supply chain and operations management while also working as a production planner at GAF, a roofing and waterproofing manufacturer.
鈥淚t鈥檚 important to me to be part of this chapter because I want to be able to help other students succeed and flourish,鈥� Zobel said. 鈥淲ith this chapter, students can gain valuable networking opportunities to advance their careers, as well as learn how retail and supply chain works.鈥�
麻豆原创 student Jazmin Jones聽is the student ambassador for the chapter.聽She鈥檚聽earning a bachelor鈥檚 degree in supply chain and operations management while working full-time as a manufacturing production manager.聽
In this role,聽Jones聽is a聽liaison聽between the organization and the student community,聽promoting the chapter, encouraging student聽involvement聽and sharing information about events,聽resources聽and聽career聽focused opportunities.

鈥淚t is important for me to be part of this student chapter because it creates a meaningful bridge between academic learning and real-world industry engagement,鈥� Jones said.聽鈥淎s a student and employee in supply chain and operations management, I wanted to be involved in something that goes beyond traditional bounds of building professional connections with the capability to gain industry insight and develop leadership skills.鈥澛�
Jones envisions the chapter as a pathway to empower students to be more confident,聽informed聽and prepared as they transition into their careers.聽鈥淚 wanted to play an active role in helping make that possible,鈥澛爏he said.
Who Can Join the NRFSA?
All聽麻豆原创 School聽of聽Business students聽are eligible to become聽NRFSA聽members聽in聽the 麻豆原创 student chapter.聽Through the聽association, students聽can聽explore diverse career paths in the retail industry and聽access聽exclusive educational and employment opportunities.聽
NRFSA聽members can sign up聽for聽exclusive networking groups and attend events with NRF retail members and recruiters. Connecting college and university students from聽more than聽120 universities with roles in聽the聽retail industry, NRF Foundation Campus programs launch careers,聽host聽virtual and in-person events and聽provide聽more than $650,000 in scholarships each year.
